Juniper

These trees are pretty much the only trees you see in
the Moab/ Canyonlands area of Utah. They are slow
growing and grow out of the strangest places. Pretty
much any crack in a rock or small collection of soil
they can find to grow. They appear to be dead on the
outside with their rough bark but they are very much
alive and all of them are unique in their own way.
This was I think the only photo I took of one of them
but I thought it came out pretty nicely. The image
makes it look smaller than it is, the tree stood
about 4 feet tall from what I remember. The larger
version of this looks much more impressive than this
little preview, just so you know.
